I have never seen before an airport where the passenger drop off is 5' walk away from the terminal door. When travelling in cold weather, the combination of the "drop off" journey and the plane boarding without bridges, guarantee you will get a cold in best case, pneumonia if really unlucky.
Decent airport now most of the refurbishments have been completed. Loses one star for me as there are no smoking facilities once you are through security !?!?
13 million passengers a year. Finally a newly kitted out airport. Oh looks like only 3 train ticket machines for the entire airport. Burger king has 3 machines and people serving. You can skip the queues by paying cash on the bus but they don't take card. Welcome to the UK January 1st 2019! China now makes the UK look stuck in the past. Even if you buy a ticket online you still have to have it printed from the ticket machine. No way of printing it on PDF to your phone. Who ever is responsible for this should be sacked. Thanks wombles.
For somebody whos doesnt need to stay in this airport longer than 30 mins it might be ok. But we were changing flights there and we had to spend whole night in this hell hole. There was literally no place to sleep, only very uncomfortable benches by the door with cold air from outside. No showers, disgusting toilets. The only lounge with showers was chargeable and closed during the night anyway... the only positive thing about this airport was the good bus connection to London.
Small and user friendly airport. Lots of parking around. Quick shuttle buss service. After refurbishment Security checks normally take about 4 min. In a peak days up to 10max. Access to variety of shops and restaurants for hungry and thirsty bellies. All the gates within 5 min easy walk.
