It has been such an honour to be part of Icknield High School. In my opinion is truly is one of the best schools in Luton. The staff here are really determined, especially since my last year in Icknield, the teachers were willing to stay during half-terms and after school helping us do very well in our exams. The staff and senior team are fair, caring and notices everyone and reward every student. I just finished my last year here and I loved every moment of it. Everyone is so caring and they have made my experience so memorable. And because of Icknield, I am able to discover and learn new things. The school here is very determined and is willing to do anything for every one of the students to be successful. I highly recommend this high school towards parents and carers, since this is by far the best school in Luton.
I am telling you, stay away from this horrible building. People say that we are a good school, which is not the case at all! Teachers are racist and my head of year single students out comstantly. However, the biggest issue is with bullying, as it is not taken care of properly and has a huge impact on student's lives. For the last time, stay away from this school!
Do not go to this school Students that are let into the school are bad and have influence on many good children there is also alot of smoking, swearing and drugs. The sanction system is extremely unfair and over the top and senior leadership give the harshest of punishments just to show off to school critics . Staff are extremely rude and do not understand children and the society they are in. Teachers also force students to admit to things they haven't done in a blackmailing manor and even insult them sometimes. A teacher had once said to student "go do one" which is an utterly rude way to speak to child. This school education wise is pretty good and you can learn alot depending on what staff you have however the enviroment children are in and the effect it has on there education and mental state is too much to cope with and thats what senior staff need to understand.
DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOLIt is bad and full of people who don't deserve to live. Oh yeah and the fights are not even that interesting...
I just finished my last year here and loved every moment of it. A caring environment which provides for all its' students as much as it can in every way possible. The teachers here are one of a kind, skilled in their area of teaching and as dedicated as you can get. They epitomize hard work and will do anything in their power to help you succeed, even if that means staying behind until 6pm on a Friday or hauling themselves to work on Saturday mornings. Their passion for teaching shines through and pushes students to reach their potential. The Pastoral system and our SISPO service at Icknield High School has beyond doubt improved many many lives if not saved them. Speaking from personal experience my Head of Year and PSO were parents to my year group as a whole and two of the most important people during our school lives who helped mold us into the bright young people we are today. Our facilities may not be brand spanking new like other schools in Luton but the sheer passion, love, determination and hunger for success that lives inside of this building and the staff and students who inhabit it and call it home make Icknield, Icknield and if I could turn back time and do it all over again, I would. I am proud to have attended this school for five years of my life and may I add, they have been the best five years. Undoubtedly, I would not be the person I am today if it was not for Icknield High School. I will miss it dearly.
