Hotel located in an area that does not feel safe. Lots of people high on substances wondering round outside. Poorly lit walkways and stairways lead to the entrance. Inside hotel OK and staff welcoming. Room lacks basic attention to detail, some lights not working, bathroom shelf broken and not replaced. Double glazing panel missing so room very cold even with heating on. Hot water intermittent in bathroom. Dust so thick on wardrobe shelf I could write my name in it. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but there was an iron and ironing board!
Great stopping point, excellent value for money. Only downside was the heating in the room wasn't on and it was freezing, but receptionists quickly and efficiently got us a portable heater to our room, before we had even made it back there. Very friendly and helpful staff, will definitely use again if I'm ever back in the area!

Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and comfortable bed. Breakfast included in the price. Hot full breakfast with toast, fruit, yoghurt, bagels and cereal. Highly recommended for the price. Will be back one day.
My experience with this hotel revolves around 2 issues: 1. thin walls; 2. potential for bed bugs. As much as the former point can be entertaining, the latter can be problematic. I spent one night in the hotel and I woke up with bites but didn't notice anything unusual before going to bed. However, I didn't inspect the bed thoroughly so I can't tell for sure. The bed looked fresh and clean. The staff is nice and accommodating and the location is great. I want to share my lesson: when at a hotel, check your bed thoroughly.UPDATE:I had prompt and kind communication with the hotel in dealing with these issues. They use preventative measures against bugs and regularly engage with pest control. I had a long journey (with multiple modes of transport) before staying in the hotel so the cause of the bites is an unsolved mystery.
